About Tommy CvitanovichTommy Cvitanovich was born in Canada, but he spent most of his life growing up in New Orleans where he attended Archbishop Rummel High School. While studying at the University of New Orleans’ School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism, he gained hands on knowledge of what it takes to operate a successful seafood establishment. Tommy, along with his mother Klara Cvitanovich, owns and operates Drago’s Seafood Restaurant, which currently has locations in Metairie, LA, New Orleans, LA, and Jackson, MS; with a fourth slated to open in Baton Rouge, LA by the end of 2016. The New Orleans location is currently the highest grossing and most profitable restaurant in the Hilton chain worldwide.Tommy currently holds board positions with the National Restaurant Association, the Louisiana Restaurant Association, Louisiana Hospitality Foundation, and the Canadian Restaurant Association. Tommy is an activist and unofficial lobbyist for both the Seafood and Restaurant industries nationally. He is also currently working with local leaders on the rebirth of Fat City, the neighborhood where the original Drago’s restaurant is located and is also adjacent to his home. With all of this passion and dedication, it is no wonder that Tommy was recognized for the “Restaurant Neighbor Award” by the National Restaurant Association in 2006.About Dr. Gerry CvitanovichDr. Gerald “Gerry” Cvitanovich is a 1978 graduate of Jesuit High School in New Orleans, Louisiana.
