Jefferson Chamber of Commerce Named Statewide Sponsor for Chambers Health Trust Health Plan, Expanding Affordable Coverage Options for Louisiana Businesses

Chambers Health Trust (CHT), a self-funded Multiple Employer Welfare Arrangement (MEWA) dedicated to providing quality, affordable health coverage for Louisiana businesses, today announced the Jefferson Chamber of Commerce as its newest plan sponsor. This partnership expands access to CHT's competitive group health insurance plans to businesses across the entire state of Louisiana.

The Jefferson Chamber of Commerce, one of Louisiana's largest chambers with over 1,000 members, will serve as a key sponsor, helping to promote and facilitate enrollment in CHT plans for eligible employers statewide. Any business domiciled in Louisiana can now access these plans through membership in the Jefferson Chamber or other local chambers of commerce, addressing rising healthcare costs and limited options for small and mid-sized employers.

"Partnering with the Jefferson Chamber of Commerce allows us to reach more Louisiana businesses facing escalating health insurance challenges," said Kyle Gillman, the Program Director of the Chambers Health Trust. "This sponsorship strengthens our mission to deliver sustainable, high-value coverage while leveraging the Chamber's extensive network and commitment to business growth."

CHT plans stand out for their competitive rates, enabled by pre-ACA underwriting standards that allow careful evaluation of applicant groups. The plans utilize the trusted Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana provider network, with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana serving as the Third-Party Administrator (TPA) and Natchitoches-based Liviniti providing pharmacy benefit management services to help control prescription drug costs. ‍

To participate, groups must meet the following requirements:

·       Only full-time employees are eligible for coverage.

·       A minimum of 2 employees must enroll.

·       At least 50% of all non-exempt employees must enroll.

·       Employers must contribute at least 50% of the employee-only portion of coverage.

‍ ‍

Any licensed insurance producer (accident & health or sickness) is eligible for appointment to sell CHT plans.

"Healthcare affordability is a top concern for our members and businesses throughout Louisiana," said Ruth Lawson, President of the Jefferson Chamber of Commerce. "By partnering with Chambers Health Trust, we're proud to offer our members—and any eligible Louisiana employer—a practical, cost-effective solution that supports workforce stability and business success."
