Tour de Jefferson Planning Begins - Volunteers Needed

TDJ_WebheaderThe 7th Annual Tour de Jefferson will be Sunday, October 20! New Discount Program for online registration and for associations who send emails to memberships.NEED VOLUNTEERS:a.  Promote family ride!   10.6 mile bike ride!  Need a volunteer to coordinate the effort to get this ride out to students, parks & recreation, families and scout groups to make this a successful ride.  Also to coordinate activities after ride between 10 - 11 (until  lunch is served)   Follow last year’s route and add the option to return to Bayou Segnette from The Westwego Farmer’s Market. o   No changes in mileage of the 25, 35, or 50 mile routes.  Adds a new “family friendly loop” with a distance of 10.6 miles to start and stop at the traditional Bayou Segnette starting line.  10.6 miles is an extra 1.5 miles from Westwego Farmer’s Market to Bayou Segenette.o   http://goo.gl/maps/Xy1Gtb.  Securing bike mechanical help for 2 rest stop:  Westwego Farmer Market and Jean Lafitte National Parkc.  Fin de Tour Food/Beverage coordinatord. Volunteer coordinator - need 10 registration, 2 parking, 4 rest area set up,  16 rest area, 15 Fin du Tour, and 5 set up volunteers!Next planning meeting is Thursday, May 2 at the Jefferson Chamber office, 3421 N. Causeway Blvd., suite 203 starting at 8:30 a.m. All welcomed to attend.
