Councilmen-At-Large to Speak at Jefferson Chamber Annual Meeting

METAIRIE,LA Newly installed Councilmen Ricky Templet,District A, and Scott Walker, District B, will address more than 450 business,community, and civic leaders at the Jefferson Chamber Annual Meeting, presentedby Ochsner Health System, on February 6 at the Crowne Plaza New Orleans AirportHotel. As one of the Chamber’s largest networking and social events, the AnnualMeeting serves as an opportunity to celebrate the many accomplishments from thepast year and announce exciting plans for initiatives, events and advocacy in2020.

The 2020 Annual MeetingPanel will focus on becoming one parish with a regional outlook, earlychildhood development and our school system, and integrity of the neighborhood& beautification. Jefferson Parish President Cynthia Lee-Sheng willmoderate the panel.

Prior to being electedto the Council At-Large Division A office, Ricky served on the Jefferson ParishCouncil representing District 1 for eight years.  As District 1 Councilman, he was a championof coastal efforts, beautification, quality of life initiatives and economicdevelopment. Ricky is a founding member and past president of the GretnaEconomic Development Association and a Founder and Chairman of the GretnaHeritage Festival.

Prior to joining theCouncil At-Large, Scott worked at TV stations in Hattiesburg, Jackson, Biloxi,Mobile and Orlando before returning home to Jefferson Parish. From 2009 to2018, Scott anchored newscasts at WDSU-TV where he left a 23-year local newscareer to open his own media consulting firm and simultaneously opened ShipleyDo-Nuts.

The Chamber will also presentseven awards and recognize the change in leadership from 2019 Board Chairman,Ryan Daul of Daul Insurance Agency, Inc., to 2020 Board Chairwoman, Beth Walkerof Ochsner Health System.

Networking begins at 8a.m. followed by the program and breakfast from 9 to 11 a.m. Individual membertickets are $85 and non-member tickets are $125.
